Each record shows where a curve begins and ends, how long it is, how tight the turn is, and whether it bends to the left or right.<\/SPAN><\/P><P><SPAN>Understanding roadway curves helps engineers and planners design safer roads, evaluate crash risks, and plan improvements. The information is maintained and updated as part of ITD\u2019s annual Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) submission to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
