The Idaho Transportation Department's (ITD) Roads and Highways Road Network Linear Referencing System (LRS) HPMS pavement event polyline feature class represents physical condition indicators collected along Idaho’s state and local federal-aid roadway network. It includes surface roughness, rut depth, cracking, and joint faulting measurements used to evaluate pavement ride quality and structural health.
Condition data are collected through automated pavement survey vehicles and processed in accordance with FHWA HPMS data item definitions. These indicators help assess pavement performance trends, support State of Good Repair analysis, and inform resurfacing and reconstruction programming. The dataset is maintained and updated annually as part of ITD’s Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) submittal to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
