The Idaho Transportation Department's (ITD) Roads and Highways Road Network Linear Referencing System (LRS) HPMS section movement event polyline feature class identifies signalized and unsignalized intersection control features along roadway segments. These attributes describe signal type, timing characteristics, number of signals, stop control, and other at-grade traffic control devices that influence travel flow and operating conditions.
The information is used by traffic engineers, planners, and modelers to assess corridor performance, determine capacity constraints, and support statewide transportation modeling and safety evaluation. Data are reviewed and updated annually as part of ITD’s Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS) submittal to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
