Each record represents a specific roadway segment used for collecting detailed pavement, traffic, and geometric data for federal reporting. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>This dataset is maintained within the HPMS Sections Catalog and serves as the master reference for linking field-collected sample data to the statewide roadway network. The Table of Potential Samples (TOPS) ensures statistically representative sampling across functional systems and area types. </SPAN></P><P><SPAN>The dataset includes attributes such as the reporting year, route identifier, begin and end measures, section length, and sample ID, along with optional comment fields for internal documentation.
